AutoCAD
Software - The Drafting Standard
By
Judy
Pines
It
all started with architectural blueprints that were meticulously
rendered by hand, often taking hours upon hours and lacking the
exacting specification that computers can bring us. Then something
known as AutoCAD software took the world by storm, completely
changing the drafting game forever. Now more than ever, AutoCAD
and its creator Autodesk have launched programs that pioneer the
way things work.
AutoCAD
software started simply as a way to bring blueprinting into the
digital world. Now it can be found at the heart of companies big
and small from blueprinting to prototyping and everything in between.
It is no longer a program simply to draw out blueprints although
it is still leads the way for such a need. CAD, or computer aided
design, has become the go to program when it comes to anything
blueprint wise and there's no question why. Outside its astounding
efficiency, it allows for incredibly accurate drawing and measurements.
Tolerances can be set to thousands of an inch and beyond to create
the utmost in extremely accurate layout. With such industry leading
software, it was only a matter of time that AutoCAD software expanded
itself into other genres of computer creation as well. As machinery
started to parallel computer technology and machines gained the
ability to adopt drawings into incredibly accurate renderings,
things like Autodesk Inventor came to be. Autodesk Inventor is
the newest of Autodesk's offerings and allows for exciting 3D
prototyping of ideas when used in conjunction with the proper
machine tools. Inventor allows the use of something called fast
prototyping where a 3 dimensional drawing is
